Apply for the CVA Designation

One-time Designation Application Fee of $100 will be required upon submission of your CVA Application.

CPAs
You must hold an active, valid, and unrevoked CPA license issued by a legally constituted state authority (the Chartered Accountant [CA] designation issued in Canada is equivalent to the CPA in the U.S.).

Required Documentation
Please have the required information and attachments as noted below to complete your online CVA application:

  • Two professional and two business references (Contact Name, Title, Telephone, E-mail, Firm Name, Address, City, State, ZIP)
  • Your Curriculum Vitae or Resume (PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, or JPG)
  • Your CPA License #, State Issued and Year Licensed

Non-CPAs
It is required that you hold a business degree (i.e., management, economics, finance, marketing, accounting, or other business field) and/or a masters of business administration (MBA) or higher business degree from an accredited college or university; and be able to demonstrate, with business references or attestations from current or previous employers and/or partners, substantial experience in business valuation.

Required Documentation
To complete your online CVA application you will need the required information and attachments available to you prior to starting the online application:
  • Two business references—Your business references must be able to attest to your experiences to be documented in the application.
    Click here to download the Business Reference Attestation form and have your two business references complete the form prior to completing the CVA application. You will need to upload copies of the completed attestation forms as you complete the CVA Application.
     
  • Two professional references (Contact Name, Title, Telephone, E-mail, Firm Name, Address, City, State, ZIP)
  • Your Curriculum Vitae or Resume (PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, or JPG)
  • Your Business Degree, Year Received, College or University name, and copy or photograph of your diploma (PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, or JPG) If you do not include a copy of your diploma(s) with your application NACVA can conduct a degree verification (A $35.00 fee is added to your application fee for us to conduct this verification.)

Additionally, NACVA may use whatever resources are available to confirm and/or investigate further crimes or convictions, if indicated above, to satisfy itself that what has been reported is accurate and complete. A member or holder of a NACVA certification may have their membership and/or certification terminated based on appropriate grounds as determined by the Executive Advisory Board.
